Where do you stand?

So lets talk about abuse…There’s physical, verbal, and emotional.. though verbal and emotional could be considered the same thing if you think about it.

When someone is beating you, and leaving bruises, that’s abuse..I’m sure we all agree on that one. But what about when someone is calling you names, or making fun of you for the way you look? Do you consider that abuse? It technically is.

Today, it is very common that you hear people making fun of other people. But did it ever occur to you that when you say something like that to someone that it may actually stick in their mind? That you could possibly be hurting them more than you think? Maybe they don’t think it is as funny as you do? A common example would be the frequent bullying of the homosexuals. There are teens being pushed so far over the edge because of their sexuality that they are KILLING themselves.

BUT…we can stop it! Did you know that 1 in 3 teens is in, or has been in, an abusive relationship? Did you know that statistic isn’t just physical abuse, its verbal/emotional too? YOU can try and fix this. When you see someone being picked on, don’t just stand there and laugh, say something to the bully. By saying nothing, you are just as bad as the bully. Everyone needs to learn how to stand up for what is right, even if they are the only one standing.

About music12301

I am an avid reader and writer. I love to blog about just about anything in the world that I think of. My blogs can be completely random or well thought out and planned, but never the less, they are all my own. I also love to sing and act and music is a big part of my life. I played the flute for 6 years and I also played the piccolo when it was needed in band. I recently began learning how to play the oboe and I love it. I plan to go to college for music and theater.
