I was in a John Lennon mood and one of his songs really got me thinking. If you have ever heard his song “Imagine” you should think about the lyrics as you listen to the song.

“Imagine there’s no countries, it isn’t hard to do. Nothing to kill or die for, and no religion too. Imagine all the people living life in peace.” That isn’t a difficult task. He is right, if there weren’t separate countries the world would have a greater unity. There wouldn’t be as many wars, and we could all live together as one.

“Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can. No need for greed or hunger, a brotherhood of man. Imagine all the people sharing all the world.” It would be a nice thing…I wish we could have no possessions. Stop to think about it for a minute, how many times have you gotten in a fight with someone over something that was “yours” ? Wouldn’t people be happier if we could all just share? I mean sharing is caring.

“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope some day you’ll join us, and the world will live as one” That would be amazing. I think John Lennon had a lot of bright ideas all put into one song. It can really make you think if you actually stop and listen to the words. This is no doubt one of my favorite songs because I love the meaning.

I thought I’d share another video of this song with you guys. This is Connie Talbot, she is somewhere around the age of 8 singing in this song. She is a great singer. I would suggest looking up other songs sung by her. Feel free to email me of comment.

About music12301

I am an avid reader and writer. I love to blog about just about anything in the world that I think of. My blogs can be completely random or well thought out and planned, but never the less, they are all my own. I also love to sing and act and music is a big part of my life. I played the flute for 6 years and I also played the piccolo when it was needed in band. I recently began learning how to play the oboe and I love it. I plan to go to college for music and theater.
