Carpal Tunnel Terror

As a 16 year old girl, you wouldn’t think I would be walking around with a wrist brace on due to CTS. After about a month of wrist pain I thoight was just from writing, playing the oboe, and starting go-karts at work, I decided it was time to go to the doctor.

Of course, the doctor only confirmed exactly what I was afraid of, I have carpal tunnel syndrome. I was hoping it was just a minor injury, but now I have to deal with a wrist brace. It wouldn’t be that bad if I didn’t have to have to wear a very restricting brace just to subside the pain.

I decided I was going to play on the tennis team before I found out I had CTS. So far, it hurts to play, but I am figuring out new things to do to make it work. Writing isn’t any fun either. There isn’t much I can do to make it easier to do everything I’m used to, but soon enough I will figure it out.

A few words of advice, if you have wrist pain, don’t wait as long as I did to see a doctor. If I had gone a little earlier, it might have been contained a little better. If you think you might have CTS, check your symptoms online!

About music12301

I am an avid reader and writer. I love to blog about just about anything in the world that I think of. My blogs can be completely random or well thought out and planned, but never the less, they are all my own. I also love to sing and act and music is a big part of my life. I played the flute for 6 years and I also played the piccolo when it was needed in band. I recently began learning how to play the oboe and I love it. I plan to go to college for music and theater.
