Merry Christmas Eve!!

Hello all! It’s been about 6 months since I’ve been on here and I would like to apologize for that. I plan on posting more frequently this upcoming year and I would like to know what you would like to see from me.

So far I plan on posting project pans and maybe even a pan that palette.  I also plan on posting some Perfectly Posh reviews on my other blog, as well as some other product reviews.

I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday. It’s currently in the 70s here in New York. I’m currently spending Christmas Eve with my dad’s wonderful girlfriend and her family.

To all of you out there who can’t be home for the holidays because you aren’t welcome there, you are in my thoughts and prayers. To all of you who feel lonely or depressed or are suffering from anxiety this holiday season, you are also in my thoughts and prayers.

Stay safe everyone. The roads are a scary place during the holiday season.

Oh My Posh!!

Recently someone sent me a couple of samples from Perfectly Posh. I had never heard of the company before, but the second I tried the products I fell in love. I was able to try the Snarky bar and the Sassyooma Big Fat Yummy hand cream (check out my review blog for the review on the two) and I knew I needed more Posh in my life!

I have wanted to get involved in selling things like this for a while now. I always said I would do it when I started college because it would give me a fun way to make a little money on the side. The problem was that I had not found a company I fully wanted to commit to. That was until I found Posh. After falling in love with the products I had a discussion with the wonderful woman who sent me the samples and I knew I had to sign up.

I am now a Perfectly Post consultant! You can find my website at !!! I hope you get the chance to check out Posh and try bjdkbkjbaksjsome of the products. I definitely recommend the hand creams and the Snarky bars. If you want to try some Posh samples let me know and I can hook you up!

Getting Involved Blogging A-Z

Once you start college there are so many ways to get involved in the campus community. The college you attend will probably have a lot more clubs than your high school, and there are also events you can attend.

A great way to get involved is joining a club. If it sounds at all interesting to you, go to a meeting and see what its like. After that first meeting if you like it you can continue to go and if you don’t like it you don’t have to go anymore. That’s the great thing about clubs! You aren’t tied to them if you don’t like them!

When looking into a school its a great idea to look into what clubs they offer. Chances are you will find something you are at least a little bit interested in. Some of the clubs my school has are for knitting/crocheting, theatre, psychology, and many more. You don’t have to be involved in the the program in your school to join the club either.

You can also get involved by going to different events the school has. You can go to theatrical productions, dinners, dances, etc… The college I attend has an ice rink, so they offer open skate at nights on Tuesday and Thursday. My roommate and I like to go to open skate sometimes because it is free and they have free skates you can use.

Getting involved is a great way to meet new people. It doesn’t matter what year you are in, you have many ways to get involved.

To all the current (or former) college students: What are some of the ways you are (were)  involved on your campus?

Freshman Fifteen Blogging A-Z

That myth everyone thinks isn’t true. The one thing they think won’t happen to them. The freshman 15. Well, guys, it’s real. It happens.

I came to college thinking I wouldn’t gain much weight, if any. I eat twice a day every day and I don’t eat much when I do. But I DID gain the freshman 15. What I didn’t anticipate was how hard it is to stay healthy living on campus with a meal plan.

Just about everything to eat on campus is filled with fat, sugar, garbs, or all three. It’s kind of disgusting when you think about it. Don’t get me wrong, we DO have a salad bar. BUT that salad bar consists of spinach, brocoli, and cherry tomatoes. It’s not much. Fruit is also available but that consists of mushy apples and green bananas

I’m not sure about any other campus, but my campus doesn’t have the nutrition information for ANYTHING available so you don’t even know what you’re eating. You kind of have to work around what’s available and ask for other options.

I will say I have lost a bit of the weight I’ve put on, but you really need to exercise and watch what you eat. I hate to say the freshman 15 is real, but I speak from experience :/ Good luck my loves! And may the odds (of not gaining weight) be ever in your favor!

Early Morning Classes Blogging A-Z

In college you finally get to make the decisions on what classes you will have and when you will take them. That being said, morning classes can either be a blessing or they can be hell.

If you are not a morning person you should definitely shy away from morning classes. I personally find that being able to sit through an early class really depends on who your professor is and what you’re doing in the class. I have one class that starts at 9 am and we watch a lot of videos. That class makes me really tired because it’s dark and we’re watching videos, but if we were actually doing work it wouldn’t put me to sleep.

I would highly recommend thinking about yourself when deciding to take early or late classes. If you like to get up around noon you should probably take later classes, but if you usually go to bed early you should take early classes.

Dorm Life Blogging A-Z

If I’m being honest, dorm life is quite a bit different than I thought it would be
I expected to have friends in my hall, to love my RA, and to basically be in a great community. Well,  news flash, living on an all freshman floor is awful.

When I requested housing last year I specifically requested to NOT be on an all freshman floor,  but I ended up stuck there anyway. Next year I’m living on an all girls floor to hopefully get away from some of the male related issues I’m currently dealing with so that should be good.

Here are some things you should be aware of before you stay your first night in your new dorm:

It will be loud. When I say loud, I mean you will be able to hear people in their room from about 5 doors down. Some people have no courtesy.  Even though there are quiet hours in place and 24 hour courtesy hours, they probably won’t be strictly enforced. But if you care at all about other people you will keep your music down and not run up and down the hallway screeming at 2 in the morning.

People are dirty.  There are sinks in our hallway, and although there are 4 sinks in each bathroom people still brush their teeth in the hall sinks and leave their spit everywhere. There is also always a sink full of noodles that make the entire hall smell. I don’t understand why people can’t clean up after themselves. But your guess is as good as mine.

Your RA might not be as helpful as you would like. Every time I have had a problem that I needed to talk to my RA about he told me to talk to the RA on call. This is not helpful to me at all. Also, my floor has two RAs and neither is a female so I’m glad I haven’t had an issue where I would need one.

I’m not saying living in a dorm is awful. I love living with my roommate (who happens to be my best friend from high school). And it’s nice to live on your own. I’m still going to be in a dorm next year,  so it’s not like I hated it so much I’m never doing it again, I just think you need to be prepared (:

Caffeine Blogging A-Z

In college there is a good chance caffeine will become your best friend. Whether it’s because you’re pulling an all jighter, you need to wake up early, or you just like the drink you will probably be drinking a lot of it. A lot of people drink energy drinks or soda but I personally prefer coffee, especially if it is iced.

On my campus there are 6 or more (there’s a good chance I’m missing a couple) different places you can buy coffee. This includes Tim Hortons and Starbucks. There is a good chance that no matter where on campus you are you will be pretty close to a place you can get your caffeine fix, so no worries.

My personal favorite is Tim Hortons. I feel like I live off of “Can I have a medium iced hazelnut triple triple, please?” (Seriously, try a Timmy’s iced triple triple.  You will fall in love. Caramel is delicious too.) I get coffee just about every weekday from there because they aren’t open on weekends. On Monday and Wednesday I go after Mind of the Artist, Tuesday and Thursday I go after psychology. I always go with my roommate and we each get a bagel with cream cheese and an iced coffee and only spend around $4.

Honestly, no matter what you’re doing in school you are probably going to need a coffee eventually at some point. I can count on one hand how many students ( and professors) I see at any given time WITHOUT a coffee or some type of caffinated beverage at any given point in the day. I personally don’t find that it has too much of an affect on me, but I live the flavor so I continue to drink it. Just do me a favor and don’t get addicted (:

Check back tomorrow for more things on college. Let me know if there’s anything you want to hear about!!
